COMPOSITION Each Capsule Contains
  • Piroxicam B.P 20 mg
PROPERTIES
NSAIDs, Antirheumatoid Drugs
INDICATION
Rheumatoid arthritis. Osteoarthritis. Ankylo-sing spondylitis. Acute musculo-skeletal disorders. Acute gout. Post-operative & post-traumatic pain. Primary dysmenorroea.
DOSAGE
  • Adults : 20 mg daily as a single dose. Musculo-skeletal disorders: Initially 40 mg daily for 2 days then 20 mg daily for 7-14 days. Gout : Initially 40 mg as a single then 40 mg daily in single or div. doses for next 4-6 days. Post-operative & post traumatic pain : 40 mg daily in single or div. doses for first two days, then 20 mg once daily. Primary dysmenorrhoea : 40 mg once daily for first two days, then 20 mg once daily for 2-3 days.
  • Children : Not recommended.
SIDE EFFECTS
Nausea, heart burn, vomiting, epigastric distress, tinnitus, skin rash, oedema.
PRECAUTIONS
Severe impairment of hepatic or renal function. Hypertension, surgery, haemorrhagic disorders. Prolonged use.
CONTRA-INDICATION
History of recurrent ulcer, active peptic ulcer, NSAID induced allergy, hypersensitivity, bronchial asthma.
PHARMACEUTICAL PRECAUTION :
Voxicam capsules should be stored in a cool, dry and dark place
