ibuforte Tablets

COMPOSITION Each Capsule Contains
  • Ibuprofen B.P. 400 mg.
INDICATION
Ibuforte is indicated for the treatment of rheumatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, obsteiarthrosis and other non-rheumatoid arthropathy. It is also indicated in frozen shoulders, bursitis, tendonitis, tenosynovitis, low-back pain and in soft tissue injuries such as sprains and strains.
Ibuforte is also indicated as an analgesic in dysmenorrhoea and during dental post-operative pain.
DOSAGE
The recommended adult dose of Ibuforte is 600 – 1200 mg daily in divided doses. In severe cases the dose may be increased to 1600 mg daily in divided doses. The initial dose of Ibuforte in dental or post-operative pains is 800 mg. The dose of Ibuforte for children is 20 mg per kg of body weight daily.
SIDE EFFECTS
Ibuforte is usually well tolerated with minor side-effects such as nausea, vomiting, skin rashes, dyspepsia and gastro-intestinal disturbances.
PRECAUTIONS
Ibuforte should be given with caution in asthmatic patient especially those who have developed broncho spasm after receiving other nonsteroidal agent.
CONTRA-INDICATION
Ibuforte is contra-indicated in patients with severe or active peptic ulceration and during pregnancy.
OVERDOSAGE
There specific antidote to Ibuforte, but gastric lavage and correction of blood electroly are recommended.
PHARMACEUTICAL PRECAUTION
Ibuforte tablets should be stored in cool and dry place.
